Visit TVA's 520 acre lake on the mountain top. Visitors can explore scenic vistas overlooking the narrowest part of the Tennessee River and descend 1,100 feet inside the mountain to the turbine room. Facilities on top of the mountain include a visitors center, overlooks and picnic areas open during daylight hours. There is 24 hour access to fisherman's facilities at the base of the mountain.

The Chattanooga Visitors Center, located adjacent to the Tennessee Aquarium, is the perfect way to begin your trip to Chattanooga. Our staff will help you with information about where to go, what to see and what to do... attractions, shops, museums, theaters, events and accommodations. You can also take care of your souvenir shopping at the Gift Shop. And don't miss "Marks on the Land," a 27 projector slide show that gives you an overview of Chattanooga's rich history.

The longest pedestrian bridge in the world in the heart of downtown Chattanooga.

Lookout Mountain's Point Park


Point Park commemorates the veterans of the Battle for Chattanooga and is the site of the Civil War's "Battle Above the Clouds." Located on the crest of Lookout Mountain, the New York Peace Memorial depicts a Union and Confederate soldier shaking hands under one flag. Inside Point Park there are three gun batteries that mark the seige lines, and the Ochs Museum provides a unique look into the battle with historical exhibits and pictures.
